The Onyx are an extremely elite group rather than a distinct clan, hiding somewhere in the northern regions of the youkai territories in the mountain areas. Those who wish to join them must first find them, then endure what is rumoured to be even more brutal than Shadow testing. Any clan may attempt entry, but afterwards must only swear loyalty to the Onyx virtues - whatever those may be. Anyone who wishes to leave does so only by death.
The Onyx are very secretive about their loyalties and motives. They are only heard of occassionally and usually in the most indirect and discrete of ways. Rumours are many, but most seem to involve a connection to a rather "impure" section of Reikai.
