The Kouryou are a very small and young clan, or rather a sub-clan. Though the Dragon now shun the Kouryou, all Kouryou were at one time of the Dragon Clan. Several hundred years ago a group of Dragons felt the Great Dragon wasn't being given as much respect and homage as it should. This group began experimenting with magic to "become closer to their dragon ancestors". For this they were driven from the Dragon Clan and forced into the underground.
Beneath Saitennin they made a home for themselves, slowly acheiving their goal. Their bodies became more dragonish, skin ranging from dark reds, purples and blues to browns and blacks; their ears long; claws, ears, scales, and tails being the prominent features.
All Kouryou possess at least some degree of shapeshifting magic and as children are first taught a dragon and amore human-like form. Other magics focuz on defense and healing, as the Kouryou area very peaceful people who detest meninless violence.
Over the years a few family groups moved from Saitenning consisting of about half of the population, and with the recent massacre at Saitennin, these scattered outliers are all that remain of this clan.
