The Azure youkai are a very small clan, but in no danger of eradication. Magic runs very strong in the Azure blood, and not just fire magic. A strong child identified early can be capable of mastering almost all the elements before reaching maturity.
The Azure are often thorough about this, but sometimes those more powerful ones slip through, and there is the danger of not gaining control of one's power before it becomes overwhelming.
This clan gives honor and respect to the Dragon rulers, if there are any in the area, but they often isolate themselves and are left that way by other clans. Children, especially strong children, are given to Masters at a young age to be trained. Often these are exployed by others such as a Dragon company prefers having at least one Azure mage among them,usually as healers. Once they are older they become Masters themselves. An Azure with at least decent healing magic is guaranteed a comfortable life.
Those whose magic isn't strong enough to warrant the special training remain at home learning the family's specific strength; be it a certain elemntal realm, healing, mixing potions and herbs, or various other trades.
Azure tend to group together just beyond major trading posts to sell services and wares, but masters live alone a great distance from any population center, finding them is half the test of negotiation for their services.
