FaeFamiliars are smaller creatures which live on the island where the FaeKind inhabit. Many of these animals are similar to those seen off the island, but have spent generations living and adapting to this particular environment. FaeKind particularly attuned to nature can befriend one of these creatures, or you can capture one for yourself. No Familiar is ever required to bond with a Fae (and thus appear on their cert). You can own and breed Familiars all you please and never own a Fae of any kind. However, Familiars do provide comfort and assistance to FaeKind they trust. Even the actions of the smallest creature can have large effects, after all.
