Beneath the level of Unifications and Elementals exist those Faequine of special type, often ranked with a Purity level 9. Some are children of the Elementals or Unifications, but some merely appear. Essences can be the random product of an Elemental Faequine and other forces working together to produce a focused aspect of a given element. Other Essences occur at random, and though they are powerful Faequine, they are not immortal nor given special place in the hierarchy. Some Essences are not even aware that they are indeed Essences, as much of the lore of their type has been lost down the generations. Most Essences can be distinguished by a single unifying aspect of their appearance and powers. However, some Essences appear to be nothing more than very powerful Faequine, and some very powerful Faequine can be mistaken for Essences if they train themselves hard enough in a focused ability.
