A Dainty is a smaller type of Faequine. They are not foals, but they're not so small as Faettes either.
Dainties are exactly that, dainty. They are slender, similar to Deserts, but smaller, and having more feather on their legs. Most assume them to be some relation of deserts, however, they all have iridescent wings.
Since all Dainties already have wings, and this is the defining feature of their type, there is no wingless or feather winged variety of Dainty. However, they can carry horned mutations: unicorn, dualhorn or tricorn, for both males and females.
Dainties are fully breedable with other Faequines. Similar to the Sleek genetic of Deserts, the Dainty genetic passes at 50% chance independent of mutations. They are a type of Faequine, not a mutation. As such, their slender build and unique wings cannot be found in other types. You either get a Dainty, or you don't. However, any horns or mutated colors they possess pass to offspring like any other mutation.
Dainties lived on the Eastern portion of the Fields until recently, when movement by the Eastern Herd disturbed their homes. They generally do not tolerate extreme temperatures well and are very much Field dwellers.
Despite being small and fragile, Dainty wings can sustain easy flight. To support the weight of larger Dainties, especially stallions, the wings beat faster than feathered wings. This requires a lot of energy, and so Dainties need more sugar in their diets than regular FaeKind. They particularly like honey.
